Course Contents

Candidates are provided with in-depth knowledge on fundamentals of set sheory, linear operators, continuity of linear operators, boundedness of linear operators, inverse of linear operators, norms of linear operators, conjugate of linear operators, conjugate operators, self-adjoint operators, symmetric operators, normal operators, isometric operators, initary operators, the idea of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, compact operators, bounded and closed operators, the idea of resolvent and spectrum for operators, the best approximation theorem, spectral properties of compact operators, Sturm-Liovile type problems, Green functions, linear integral equations, functional analysis methods for linear equations with compact operators.
