Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Explains the scientific method in modern science through the works of Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo and Newton.
2) Explains the emergence and development of the positivist paradigm in the framework of modern science (Classical positivism, evolutionary positivism, logical positivism-Vienna environment-)
3) Explains structuralism, functionalism and exchange theories within the scope of positivist paradigm.
4) Discusses the perspectives of the theories on organization and management within the framework of the positivist paradigm.
5) Explains the criticisms of modernism (K. Popper, Dilthey, Kuhn, Feyerabend).
6) Explains the postmodernism construct and its features.
7) Compares positivist and post-positivist paradigms in terms of their reflections on education.
8) Discusses the purpose of education, school, theory, research and practice in educational administration from the perspective of critical theory (Frankfurt school, culture industry etc.).
9) Discusses the reflections of the phenomenological point of view, Ethnometodology and chaos theory on educational administration based on its characteristics.

Examination of the historical development of science, the formation of modern science and modernism and enlightenment period thinkers, logical positivism and scientific method, positivist paradigm and its reflections on educational administration, criticism of modernism (anti-science movement) and the fiction of postmodernism, post positivism and its reflections on educational administration
