Amaç Eğitim Yönetimi Anabilim Dalı'nın amacı, okullara, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı ve diğer kurumlara yönetici, denetçi yetiştirmek; üniversitelerin ilgili bölümlerine öğretim elemanı yetiştirmek; Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı kurumlarda çalışan öğretmen, yönetici ve denetçilerin mesleki yeterliklerini yükseltmek, okul yöneticiliği ve eğitim denetçiliği alanında uzman yetiştirmektir. The Aim of Education Management is breed manager and supervsior to mınıstry of national education and other institions, breed inspectors related departments of universities, elevate techers occupational ability schoolls in bounded institions to mınıstry of national education by academic and inservice education, course and seminar; breed experts in schooll manager and education supervision field.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's and doctorate programmes who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's and doctorate programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related bylaws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

  • To be able to recognize the discipline of Educational Administration and to answer the problems about educational administration and policy
  • To evaluate the political and economic developments affecting the development of the Education Administration discipline
  • To be able to develop new ideas and methods by using creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision making competencies
  • Comparing the theories and approaches related to educational administration and supervision
  • Recognizing the management and supervision problems of the education system by using the knowledge gained in the field of Educational Administration
  • To identify the problems encountered in the management, supervision, ethical and economic dimensions of the Turkish education system from a scientific point of view and to offer solutions to the problems
  • Evaluating the theoretical and practical information about educational administration with a critical perspective
  • To be able to produce solutions in social, scientific and ethical issues that direct the functioning of educational administration
  • Being aware of social, scientific and ethical values in studies conducted in the field of Educational Management; To be able to execute these values in the fields of management and control of education
  • To be able to produce solutions about problems based on values and principles emerging from different foundations regarding education
  • Comprehending the philosophical fields that form the foundations of educational administration and new approaches and the relationship among them
