Amaç 1-Havacılık Bilimi ve Teknolojileri A.B.D. yüksek lisans programının amacı, öğrenciye sunduğu ileri düzeyli ve özel alanlara odaklanmış derslerinin katkılarıyla, bilimsel araştırmaya yönelik problemi tanımlama, bilgiye ulaşma, konuya odaklanma ve bu hususta gereken araştırma metot ve yöntemlerini öğretmektir. 2-Ulusal ve uluslararası alanlarda karşılaşılan havacılık vakalarıyla bilimsel bir yaklaşımla ilgilenebilme ve çözüm prosedürlerini ortaya koyabilme kabiliyetini kazandırmak. 1-The purpose of the Aerospace Science and Technology master program is to teach students scientific and research oriented problem identification, access to information, focusing on issues and research methods and techniques needed to teach this subject in courses offered by the contribution of high-level and focused specific areas. 2-To gain the ability of revealing by means of scientific approach and finding solution procedures in case of encountered national and international aerospace problems.

Kabul Koşulları Yüksek lisans programına başvurabilmek için; bir lisans diplomasına sahip olmak ve ALES sınavında başvurduğu programın puan türünde en az 55 standart puan veya GRE ya da GMAT sınavlarından eşdeğer bir puan almış olmak gerekir. So as to be admitted to the program, candidates should be a graduate of related fields of study. The bachelor’s degrees granted from universities other than Turkey shall be approved by the Council of Higher Education. Applicants must get a minimum score of 55 from the related test parts of ALES (Examination for Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education) or equivalent grade from GMAT or GRE exams, and a minimum score of 50 from UDS or KPDS (Governmental Foreign Language Proficiency Test of English) or an equivalent grade from TOEFL, IELTS, CEFLE, ZDF for English, French or German.

So as to be granted a degree from the program, students must successfully complete at least 7 courses listed in the schedule excluding the specialty field course, must accomplish 1 seminar course and reach 120 ECTS credits in total, and submit a scientifically valid master’s thesis approved by an academic jury.

These programs in a variety of departments cover various courses offered with an interdisciplinary approach in accordance with the field of interests. Candidates are provided with the opportunity to conduct applied research activities thanks to the updated laboratories equipped with high standard infrastructures.

Upon a successful completion of the program, graduates can continue their academic studies at doctorate programs in the related fields of study on condition that they get the required score from related test parts of ALES (Examination for Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education) and certify their foreign language proficiency through central or internationally valid examinations such as TOEFL,YDS,etc.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's and doctorate programmes who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's and doctorate programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related bylaws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation and assessment is carried out basing on “Kocaeli University, General Examination Regulations for Graduate Degrees”. Depending on the nature of the course, various instruments such as mid-term exams, final exams, projects, assignments, presentations, short exams are involved in the assessment process.
