Genel Bilgi
(İngilizce)
It is seen that optical, photonics and laser technologies are developing very intensely in the world and integrated with electronic systems. In this context, there is a need for high level specialist personnel who can follow the technological developments and integrate with the supply of suitable systems in order to develop their own production systems from abroad. Advanced technology products, which entered the country with new investment projects, include increasingly complex precision production and working mechanisms in addition to the mechanical structure. Adjusting, programming and operating in optimum conditions of optical based systems according to production conditions requires an interdisciplinary study including Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and even Control Engineering, especially Physics and Electrical-Electronics Engineering. For example, the use of a robot in the production system to produce sensitive optical elements reveals the need described above. A much more important issue than the operation of the production systems imported from abroad is the need for developing domestic technology, which can compete in international markets, and to develop unique technology that will reduce the burdened budget burden that should be reserved for license and information transfer from abroad. Electro-Optic Systems are high value added systems and have the motivation to contribute to the needs of our country's industry working in this field by reducing its dependency on foreign countries and having export potential. With the Electro-Optical System Engineering Doctorate Program, it has the knowledge of doctorate at the level of doctorate that will meet these needs, ensure the efficient operation of high-tech products domestically, can constantly improve itself, pay attention to university-industry cooperation, produce solutions for industrial needs, be sensitive to universal values ??and respect ethical values. It is aimed to train well-equipped human resources with creative, entrepreneurial and pioneering features, internalizing the R & D, project and innovation culture.
Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları Mezunlar; Elektro-Optik Sistemlerin kullanıldığı savunma, havacılık, tıp, gibi stratejik alanlarında ve seri, hassas, otomasyona dayalı üretim yapılan otomotiv, gıda, kuyumculuk gibi pek çok alanda kendilerine istihdam imkanı bulabilmektedir. Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's and doctorate programmes who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's and doctorate programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related bylaws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).
