Amaç Kamu ya da özel sağlık kuruluşlarının İlk ve Acil Yardım hizmetleri biriminde, Ambulans ve/veya hastanelerde çalışabilecek yetkinlikte bilgi, beceri ve deneyime sahip; çağdaş düşünce sistemini benimsemiş, sorunların çözümünde kendine güvenen, insan / hasta ilişkilerinde empatik yaklaşımı ve iletişimi ilke edinmiş, sabırlı ve soğukkanlı, mesleki sorumluluğunun bilincinde İlk ve Acil Yardım Teknikerleri yetiştirmektedir. (İngilizce)		 The purpose of the program is to train first aid and emergency technicians with the consciousness of the professional responsibilities who would be employed in the Departments of first aid and emergency,ambulance and/or in hospitals, who would have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to work in the operating room and / or intensive care units, who adopt contemporary thinking system , trust themself in solving problems, patient and calm and hold the principles of emphatic approach and communication in human / patient relationships.

Vizyon Değişimin hızlı yaşandığı günümüzde bilimsel ve sosyal koşullara kolayca uyum sağlayabilen, takım çalışması ve paylaşım kültürüne yatkın, çevre sorunlarına ve mesleki etik sorumluluklarına duyarlı, inisiyatif sahibi, bilişim teknolojilerini kullanabilen yetkin sağlık elemanlarının yetiştirildiği bir program olmaktır. (İngilizce)		 The vision of the program is to train efficient health employees who can use information technology, who are initiative, who are sensitive to environmental and professional ethical responsibilities and who can easily adopt to the scientific and social conditions in a constantly changing world.
Kabul Koşulları YÖK’ün ilgili mevzuatı doğrultusunda ÖSYM tarafından belirlenir. Programa kayıt yaptırmak isteyen öğrencinin, ÖSYM tarafından düzenlenen sınavlarda program için öngörülen puanı alarak başarı göstermesi gerekmektedir. Yurtiçi veya yurtdışında eşdeğer programda öğrenimine başlamış bir öğrenci, üniversite tarafından kontenjan açıldığı takdirde yatay geçiş için başvuru yapabilir. Yatay geçiş için başvuran her bir öğrencinin şartları ilgili yönetmelik ve kabul koşulları dikkate alınarak değerlendirilir. Kabul Koşulları
(İngilizce)		 Admission requirements are set by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) according to the regulations prepared by YOK (Higher Education Council). The students who are willing to enter the program should obtain the necessary scores in the exams given by OSYM. The students who had registered to an equalivalent program in Turkey or abroad can apply to transfer to the program if the university allocates quotas to tranfer. The transfer applications are evaluated according to the specific conditions of the students and related regulations.
Dereceyi Alabilme Koşulları, Kuralları İlk ve Acil Yardım Programı öğrencilerinin önlisans derecesini alabilmesi için her yarıyıl ilgili danışmanın yönlendirmesiyle kayıt yaptırılan tüm derslerden ve staj vb. yükümlülüklerden devam koşulunu yerine getirerek başarılı olunması gerekmektedir. Yıllık ders planlarında yer alan eğitim-öğretim sorumluluklarını yerine getiren ve en az 120 AKTS/ECTS kredisini tamamlayan öğrenciler programdan mezun olur Dereceyi Alabilme Koşulları, Kuralları
(İngilizce)		 So as to get a degree, in addition to attendance requirement, students have to complete minimum 120 ECTS requirement, internship period, have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.
Program Genel Profili İlk Ve Acil Yardım Programında son yıllarda önemi daha da anlaşılan hastane öncesi ilk yardım acil bakım hizmetlerinde KKM ile irtibat kurarak hastaya ilk ve acil yardım yapabilen, doktorsuz ekiplerde ambulans ekip lideri olarak çalışan, gerektiğinde ambulansı kullanabilen, hastanede acil serviste ve ambulans içerisinde gerek duyulan her türlü monitör, araç gereç ve bazı ilaçları kullanabilen, kurtarma operasyonlarında aktif olarak görev yapabilen, hızlı ancak paniklemeden doğru hastaya en doğru acil bakımı verebilen ilk ve acil yardım teknikerleri yetiştirilir. Bu program, önlisans düzeyinde eğitim vermektedir. Öğrencilerine İlk ve Acil yardım Teknikerliği mesleği ile ilgili bilgi ve beceriler, mesleki uygulamaya ilişkin mesleki etik değerlere bağlılık ve hastalarla iyi iletişim kurma gibi aktarılabilir deneyimler kazandırılır.Programı başarıyla bitirenler bireysel olarak çalışma yetkisine sahip olmadıklarından hastane acil servislerinde ya da özel ambulans servislerinde görev alabilirler. (İngilizce)		 Emergency and First Aid Program, the importance of which has been better understood in the recent years, trains first aid and emergency care technicians who can be employed in non- doctor teams offering ambulance transfer service without a doctor by communicating the CCC, can drive an ambulance in need, can operate any kind of equipment available in an ambulance, can actively take place in rescue teams, offering fast and proper emergency aid in a calm manner. This program offers associate degree and the graduates have to be employed under a health unit or under a company offering private ambulance service, since they are not licensed to work on their own.
Genel Bilgi Bu programın amacı, Hastane öncesi acil sağlık hizmetlerinde, hasta ve yaralılara temel ve ileri yaşam desteği verebilen; her türlü sistem travmasını tanıyıp uygun acil yaklaşımı yapabilen ilk müdahaleleri yapılmış hasta ya da yaralıların ambulansla güvenli bir şekilde hastanelere ulaşmasını sağlayan; her türlü doğal afet ile kimyasal biyolojik nükleer saldırı gibi olağanüstü durumlarda acil sağlık sistemi organizasyonunda görev ve sorumluluk paylaşabilen Türkiye’de veya yurt dışında görev yapabilecek, etik ilkelere bağlı, görev ve sorumluluklarının bilincinde, kararlılık ve liderlik özelliği gelişmiş, sakin akılcıl düşünebilen yenilikleri takip edebilen İlk ve Acil Yardım Teknikeri yetiştirmektir. (İngilizce)		 The aim of this program is to train First Aid Technicians with a commitment to ethical principles, aware of their responsibilities, determined, open to innovations regarding the field, equipped with leadership qualities, calm and have a rational way of thinking and who can work in pre-hospital emergency health care, who can give basic and advanced life support for sick and injured people, who identify any kind of trauma system and can decide on the appropriate emergency approach , who can enable the transfer of patients to hospitals via ambulances safely, who can take and share responsibility in extraordinary cases such as; nuclear or biological attack, natural disaster, etc.
Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları Mezuniyetten sonra T.C Sağlık Bakanlığı bünyesinde Kamu Personeli Seçme Sınavı sonucuna göre 112 acil yardım istasyonları, 112 komuta kontrol merkezleri, hastane acil servislerinde görev alabilmektedirler. Ayrıca özel sağlık sektörü içerisindeki ilk ve acil yardım hizmetine ihtiyaç duyulan alanlarda (Belediyeler bünyesinde itfaiyelerin arama kurtarma birimleri, özel ambulanslar, özel hastaneler, özel şirketler, spor karşılaşmaları, havaalanları, cankurtaranlık eğitimi almaları halinde plajlar ve havuzlar) çalışabilmektedirler Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları
(İngilizce)		 Since graduates of the program are not licensed to work on their own, they have employment opportunities in hospital emergency departments or private ambulance services. They can also be employed in areas where first aid and emergency services are offered such as; fire brigade, rescue units within the municipalities, private ambulances, private hospitals, private companies, sport organizations or airports. They can also work as lifeguards at beaches or pools on condition that they recieve any training on these fileds.

(İngilizce)		 Upon a successful completion of the associate program, so as to get a bachelor’s degree, students can apply to programs of related field(s) such as Nursing, Emergency Response and Disaster Management, Nursing and Health Careon condition that they get the required score from Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by OSYM. (Student Selection and Placement Center). Anadolu University Distance Learning Programs are also available for our graduates with no admission requirement.

(İngilizce)		 So as to get a degree students have to fulfill minimum 120 ECTS requirement, thier internship period, have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and pass all the courses listed in the program.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Course of Program

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Kocaeli University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 30% -70% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
