Amaç Hayat boyu öğrenme ve yetişkin eğitimi anabilim dalının amacı,yetişkin eğitiminin kuramsal temellerine katkıda bulunacak araştırmalar yürütürek, hayat boyu öğrenme ve yetişkin eğitimi alanında kamu ve özel sektörde çalışacak personel yetiştirmek suretiyle yerel ve ulusal açıdan ülkenin eğitim hedeflerine ulaşmasına katkı sağlamaktır. The aim of the department of lifelong learning and adult education is to contribute to the achievement of the country's educational goals in local and national terms by conducting research that will contribute to the theoretical foundations of adult education and by training personnel to work in the public and private sectors in the field of lifelong learning and adult education.
Misyon Hayat boyu öğrenme ve yetişkin eğitimi anabilim dalının misyonu evrensel düzeyde bilim, ve teknoloji birikiminden yararlanarak ülkenin geleceği için üstün nitelikli bireyler yetiştirmeyi, araştırma, eğitim ve hizmet alanlarındaki üretimini toplum yararına sunmak ve vizyonumuz doğrultusunda, alanında iyi yetişmiş, aydın ve yaratıcı düşünen, bilgi toplumunun yeniliklerine hazır olan, bilgiye ulaşma yollarını bilen, çağın gerektirdiği eğitim-öğretim yöntemlerini ve teknolojilerini kullanabilen, açık fikirli, özgür düşünebilen bireyler ile, Hayat Boyu Öğrenme ve Yetişkin Eğitimi alanında rol alacak, kamu ve özel sektörde hayat boyu öğrenme ve yetişkin eğitimi kurum ve kuruluşlarında görev yapacak uzman çalışanlar yetiştirmektir. Kabul Koşulları Adaylardan, yüksek lisans müracaatı için yabancı dil koşulu aranmaz, Yüksek Lisans için ALES’ten eşit ağırlıklı puandan en az 55 puan almış olması gerekir. Eğitim Fakültesi mezunları ya da farklı fakültelerden mezun olup çalıştıkları işyerlerinin eğitim ile ilgili bölümünde (sürekli eğitim merkezi, insan kaynakları birimi, personel geliştirme, eğitim bölümü, hizmet içi eğitim bölümü vb.) çalıştıklarını belgeleyenler başvurabilir. To successfully complete the compulsory and elective courses in the Lifelong learning and adult education master's programme curriculum, to do a master's thesis in the field under the direction of an academic advisor, to defend it in front of a scientific jury and to be accepted as successful.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's and doctorate programmes who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's and doctorate programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related bylaws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

  • Presenting the products in the field of Lifelong Learning and Adult Education
  • To be able to reflect the scientific developments in lifelong learning and adult education to their applications
