Kabul Koşulları Bölümümüz öğrencisi olabilmek için Öğrenci Seçme Yerleştirme Merkezi'nin yapmış olduğu üniversitelere giriş sınavından (MF-4) yeterli puanı almış olması ve OSYM koşullarını (sağlık raporu, güvenlik soruşturması) gerekmektedir. In order to be a student of our department, Student Selection Placement Center has to get enough points from the entrance exam (MF-4) and the OSYM conditions (medical report, security investigation) are required. Optional English preparation is offered in the curriculum. In addition, some courses and practices in this program are carried out at the premises of private and public aviation organizations.

Genel Bilgi Bölümümüz, konularında uzman öğretim üyesi kadromuz tarafından Uçak Elektrik-Elektroniği bakımı konusunda Ulusal ve Uluslararası havacılık otoriterinin onayladığı standartlar dahilinde ve seviyede eğitim vermektedir. Öğrencilerimize Uçak Elektrik-Elektroniği alanında konuları anlamaya ve araştırmaya yönelik bir eğitim sunarak, uluslararası düzeyde, hayat boyu öğrenen ve kendini sürekli yenileyebilen bireyler yetiştirmeyi hedefliyoruz. Öğrencilerimize ilk iki yıl temel dersler yanın, Havacılık ve Uçak Bilgisi, Aerodinamik, Uçak Bakım Bilgisi vb. gibi temel alan eğitimi dersleri verilmektedir. Üçüncü sınıfta bakım eğitimi temellerini tamamlayan öğrencilerimize Bakım Prosedürleri, Uçak Bakımında İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği, Elektrik-Elektronik Uygulamaları vb. gibi mesleki gelişmelerine katkı sağlayacak seçmeli dersler sunulmaktadır. Dördüncü sınıfta öğrencilerimiz Bitirme Tezi ve seçmeli dersler için 1 gün okula gelmekte, bunun dışındaki zamanlarını Havayolları ile anlaşmamız doğrultusunda Bakım Deneyimi çalışması için ilgili Havayolu şirketlerinde pratik yaparak geçirmektedir. Bölümümüzdeki ders içerikleri Uçak Elektrik-Elektronik Bakım Bölümü EASA ve SHGM’nin ilgili mevzuat kriterlerini kapsayacak şekilde belirlenmiştir. Eğitimleri desteklemek amacıyla Elektrik Laboratuvarı, Elektrik Makinaları Laboratuvarı, Gövde Laboratuvarı, Motor Laboratuvarı, Bilgisayar destekli eğitim laboratuvarı ve simülatörleri içeren olanaklar da kullanılmaktadır. Uygulamaya yönelik bazı derslerde sektörün önde gelen EASA veya SHY/PART-145 yetkisine sahip uçak bakım kuruluşları tesislerinden yararlanılmaktadır. Our department provides training in terms of Aircraft Electrical-Electronics maintenance by our expert staff on the subjects within the standards approved by National and International aviation authority. We aim to educate our students on an international level, lifelong learners and self-renewal individuals by offering an education to understand and research topics in the field of Aircraft Electrical-Electronics. The first two years of the basic courses of our students, Aviation and Aircraft Information, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Maintenance Information, etc. basic education courses are given. In the third year, students who have completed the basics of maintenance education; Maintenance Procedures, Occupational Health and Safety in Aircraft Maintenance, Electrical and Electronic Applications etc. elective courses that will contribute to their professional development. In the fourth grade, our students come to the school for one day for Graduation Thesis and elective courses, and spend their time outside in practice in the related Airline for the Maintenance Experience study in accordance with our agreement with Airline. The contents of the course are determined in accordance with the relevant legislative criteria of EASA and SHGM. In order to support the trainings, Electrical Laboratory, Electrical Machinery Laboratory, Body Laboratory, Engine Laboratory, Computer aided training laboratory and simulators are used. Some of the practical courses utilize the leading EASA or SHY / PART-145 aircraft maintenance facilities in the sector. Our graduates work with high rates of employment in Turkish Airlines, Turkish Air Force, Air Supply Maintenance Centers, State Airports Authority and special airline maintenance centers and other aviation companies.

Students who graduate from our department can continue their graduate education according to the score obtained from ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination) exams and if they meet other relevant conditions of the Institute of Science and Technology.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Program Competencies

  • Realizes the solution requirements of a system, process or problem related to the field within the framework of a specific method.
  • Explains the problems and possible system+problems related to the field with the theoretical and practical knowledge gained in the field, interprets and applies solution methods.
  • Recognizes aircraft design, structure, components and systems (mechanical, electrical, propulsion, avionics, etc.) with a background in mathematics and science, and uses the necessary hand tools and equipment effectively.
  • Interprets the standards, occupational health and safety, legislation and human factors processes related to the field, and performs the tasks assigned with a sense of professional and ethical responsibility.
  • Interprets all printed and electronic sources, technical docs (such as AMM, SRM, CMM, technical diagrams and drawings) on issues related to the field, uses them effectively in problem solving.
  • Using the knowledge related to the field, presents solutions to problems in Turkish and / or English in written and oral form.
  • To be able to follow the developments related to the field, to renew himself/herself and to interpret the problems with current knowledge.
  • To be able to take responsibility in multidisciplinary teams individually or as a team member in solving problems related to the field, to manage design and maintenance activities within the framework of safety precautions.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Kocaeli University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 30% -70% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
