Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's and doctorate programmes who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's and doctorate programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related bylaws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

• Based on master's degree qualifications, he develops and deepens his knowledge in the fields of historical development of Turkish Language and Literature, Old Turkish Language, New Turkish Language, Contemporary Turkish Languages, Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Literature, and Turkish Folk Literature at the level of expertise and carries out studies on this subject. and creates original definitions and concepts that will bring innovation to the field.
• Achieves original results by using knowledge that requires expertise in analyzing and evaluating new and complex ideas, discussions, and developments in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
• Recognizes and uses domestic and foreign information sources in the relevant field in order to develop and deepen the advanced theoretical and applied knowledge he has acquired.
• Expands the boundaries of advanced traditional and contemporary theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the Turkish Language and Literature program.
• Makes international and national publications related to its field.
• Supports solution suggestions for problems related to the Turkish Language and Literature program with quantitative and qualitative data and shares these data with people and institutions, both experts and non-experts in the relevant field, through various communication tools.
• Participates in various social, cultural, and artistic events in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
• Provides leadership in environments that require solving unique and interdisciplinary problems in the field.
• Uses advanced-level information technology along with the computer software required by the Turkish Language and Literature program.
• He is a creative and critical thinker in the field of Turkish Language and Literature and develops new ideas, models, methods, and applications related to his field by using high-level decision-making processes such as problem-solving, comparison, and planning.
• Observe ethical values in the process of applying knowledge related to the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
• Analyze a literary text semantically and formally, taking into account the language characteristics within the framework of the artistic understanding and literary discourse specific to the period in which the text was produced, and compare it with other works.
• Conducts in-depth research on language and communication, language and people, literary language and spoken language, poetic language, and prose language and makes use of these in text analysis.
• Supports the universality of social and cultural rights in the field of Turkish Language and Literature, gains awareness of social justice, and protects historical and cultural heritage.
